ECCS Giornata di Studio: "Performing Reception (Again): Early Modern Time Warps" - Virtual Event, May 23, 12pm-2pm.
~ REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN ~
Building on the lively and thought-provoking conversation that unfolded at our March conference in Philadelphia—featuring Shane Butler (Johns Hopkins University), Jessica Peritz (Yale University), and Emily Wilbourne (CUNY)—this virtual roundtable expands on the dynamics of performing reception and the temporal flexibilities of the early modern. In this second iteration of the program, we open the floor to broader themes and interpretive variations, drawing insight from colleagues working across a rich spectrum of languages, disciplines, and historical periods.

The curators Kate Driscoll (Duke University) and Eugenio Refini (New York University) are pleased to welcome into dialogue six scholars: Niall Atkinson (University of Chicago), Francesco Davoli (I Tatti), Eleonora Di Cintio (I Tatti), Katharina Piechocki (University of British Columbia), Sarah Gwyneth Ross (Boston College), and Sarah Van der Laan (University of Kansas). Each speaker will deliver a short presentation, serving as the springboard for an interactive conversation to follow.
