The conference dates fall during the high season, and we urge you to make plans soon, particularly for housing.

The link below is rich with information about the various ways to travel to Sorrento via air, train, car, and sea.

The Istituto Sant’Anna is an accessible structure. However, as the instructions on the travel link advise (and you may remember from 2018), getting to Sorrento with a lot of luggage can be complicated. The link also details public parking lots at the outskirts of Sorrento for those traveling in their own vehicles.

June is high season and neither the Association nor Sant’Anna can negotiate discounted hotel rates. Colleagues at Sant’Anna recommend using the search engines you typically find helpful for organizing your travel.

AAIS is not advertising any specific engine and we imagine you are already familiar with the likely sites.

We urge you to ascertain the distances–including vertical distances–from the conference sites to lodging before booking.
You will find a CONFERENCE HOUSING SHARE space on the Association website for anyone seeking partners for splitting housing costs.

Please use the Message Board area in the Member Center to post your requests for housing or to reply to others’.

You may consider booking in S. Agnello, about 25 min walking to Sorrento, or in Piano di Sorrento (farther). The commuter train, la Circumvesuviana, serves both communities.

Please be aware that the last train in the direction of Naples is at 9:30pm. After that, it is recommended you explore ride-sharing, which could make either of these places easier to reach.

Finding a Taxi in Sorrento during high season can be challenging. Please consider extra waiting time if you are planning on using a Taxi from any destination within and nearby Sorrento to the Sant'Anna Institute.

If you need special accommodations due to disabilities, please contact us. We will put you in touch with an officer at the Sant'Anna Institute that will make special arrangements.

We look forward to welcoming you in Sorrento!
