GIORNATE DI STUDIO
GRADUATE STUDENTS EDITION

The AAIS Critical Race, Diasporas, and Migrations Caucus hosted two Fall events for graduate students in the field of Italian Studies whose research in any period intersects with the broad parameters of critical race, diasporas and migration studies. These events are open to graduate students at all stages. The goal for each event was to convene through research and mentorship to discuss, for example, methodologies, application to pedagogy, presenting one’s research to the academic job market, publishing strategies, and the public side of CRDM beyond the academy.

28 SEPTEMBER 2023
Research Mentorship Workshop

The first event took place on Thursday, September 28, 2023, 4:00–5:30 pm ET. This event was a virtual Research Mentorship Workshop, where members of the CRDM executive committee provided participants with one-on-one feedback on their current research projects. This event was restricted to selected participants; acceptance was based on the strength and precision of the research abstract.

20 OCTOBER 2023
Graduate Student Research Symposium

The second event took place on Friday, October 20, 2023, 4:00–5:30 pm ET. This event was a virtual Graduate Student Research Symposium, where panel participants presented their work to all attendees, with Q&As to follow. Open to all AAIS members. MORE INFO
